This year Disney’s Cinderella is celebrating its Blu-ray and DVD rerelease this coming fall and as announced back in April the house of mouse has enlisted shoe guru, Christian Louboutin to try his hand at playing fairy godmother. Who else could truly bring Cinderella’s glasses slippers to modern life?
On July 4th during Paris Couture Week the glass slippers to rule all glass slippers were unveiled and adorned in lace, Swarovski crystals, glittery butterflies and donned the classic red-sole. Truly a shoe that would make any girl feel like a modern day princess.
“I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world,” said the designer.
I definitely like this take on the glass slippers over Maison Martin Margiela’s take from a few years back. (Pictured below) Although it was more of a true representation of the classic shoe (and lustworthy) I prefer the inspired by, functional version by Mr. Louboutin.
